Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search Tools
When a visitor types a name, location, or other term into a search tool, the query passes to the independent provider that operates that tool. Howell County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider’s privacy practices apply to its processing.
Messages Sent to the Site
An email or contact submission may be retained long enough to review and answer it. We do not share the message outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law. Do not send sensitive custody identifiers to this private site when they belong in an official request to the Howell County Sheriff, MODOC, or another record holder.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Routine server, analytics, and service logs may collect basic technical details when a page loads:
- The visitor’s IP address.
- The browser name and version.
- The device type and operating system.
- The pages viewed and time spent on them.
- The referring site, when one is supplied.
- The date and time of the request.
Cookies
Cookies and similar technologies help measure how visitors use the site. Browser controls can reject or remove cookies, although some features may then work differently or lose saved preferences.
Reasons We Use Information
Collected information is used for limited operational purposes:
- Operating the site and maintaining reasonable speed.
- Sending a search request to the partner service selected by the visitor.
- Understanding which Howell County guides are useful.
- Finding errors, abuse, and technical problems.
- Displaying advertising that may reflect general interests.
Official and Third-Party Websites
Links may lead to Howell County release records, sheriff and police pages, Missouri corrections systems, court portals, federal locators, or third-party search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination’s own privacy notice governs. Official Missouri records may also be handled under Chapter 610, Missouri’s Sunshine Law, and other laws applied by the government custodian.
Some advertising partners use their own systems to recognize activity across different sites and tailor advertising. That tracking occurs under the partner’s controls and policies, not as a record stored by Howell County Released Inmates.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:
- Search partners that process a query submitted to their tool.
- Analytics providers that measure site use.
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure ads.
- Law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order.
Security Has Practical Limits
Reasonable, commonly used safeguards are applied to information under the site’s control. No internet connection, storage system, or online service can be promised as completely secure, and this notice does not offer a guarantee against every breach or unauthorized act.
This Site Is for Adults
Howell County Released Inmates is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor submitted information, use the Contact Us page to request review and deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and the limits of the data held, a person may ask to:
- Receive a copy of personal information maintained by the site.
- Correct information that is inaccurate.
- Delete personal information that is eligible for erasure.
- Opt out of certain processing where that choice applies.
